The Need for Help
According to the World Health Organization, a child dies every 20 seconds from lack of drinking water and sanitation. Each year, 1.5 million people die from waterborne diseases such as cholera. Though the global situation has improved, 748 million people still lack access to improved water sources and millions more lack basic sanitation.
But there is hope! These deaths are preventable and can change dramatically with access to clean water, safe hygiene practices, and adequate sanitation.
